LaunchYU has partnered with York University’s Division of Advancement to present an at at-home edition of the LaunchYU Entrepreneurial Alumni Speaker Series.
Each part of the series aims to capture the real stories, challenges, successes and failures that top York University alumni entrepreneurs have encountered in their journeys.
The Entrepreneurial Alumni Speaker Series @Home talks are meant to inspire, motivate and educate students, alumni and community members, on the realities of entrepreneurship in today’s world.
Previous events in the series receiving a positive response from attendees who heard about serial entrepreneur Richard Reiner’s five successful (and a few unsuccessful) tech startups, as well as boxer and Fight to End Cancer CEO Jennifer Huggins’ insight into how growing up with anaphylaxis has given her a unique perspective on relationships, business and life.
At both events, attendees were encouraged to join the conversation, not only through a Q-and-A segment, but also through the addition of an Entrepreneurs Panel where pre-selected audience members were given the opportunity to engage with the speaker live during the event.
The series will conclude on Aug. 20 at noon with a presentation featuring Abtin Masseratagah, a digital marketing consultant and the CEO and founder of Northrn Mo.
With over a decade of industry experience, Masseratagah has been featured in Forbes, Huffington Post, Inc.com and Entrepreneur Magazine. He specializes in viral marketing, growth hacking, influencer marketing, social media marketing and brand amplification across all social media platforms including. He has worked with numerous brands such as Ivory Ella, Self Care Station, Electric Family, Protocol Recordings, Republic Recordings, Numari Co and others. Masseratagah and his firm have sold over $100,000,000 worth of products online and have also grown over 30,000,000 followers for themselves and their clients.
From the young age of 13, Masseratagah was able to make just about anything go viral. By the age of 21, his digital marketing savviness translated into a self-built agency, which later fell apart. Masseratagah will tell the story of the rise and fall (and rise again) of his agency and what he has learned as an entrepreneur. Masseratagah will talk about the importance of diversifying revenue streams not only as an individual, but also as a business owner, especially when it comes to social media.
