The Israel and Golda Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies will host its annual Leonard Wolinsky Lectures on Jewish Life and Education on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 3 p.m. in an online format.

The Wolinsky Lectures this year will be dedicated to “Reimaging/Reimagining
the Jewish Past,” and will feature distinguished lecturers will including:
- Professor Steven Fine of Yeshiva University, who will discuss “‘Titus You’re Gone, But We’re Still Here, Am Yisrael Chai’: Modern Jewish Pilgrimage to the Arch of Titus;” and
- Professor Rachel Hallote of the State University of New York at Purchase, who will talk about “Imagining Ancient Jews in 19th century Palestine: The Rediscovery of the Holy Land and the Birth of Biblical Archaeology.”
The webinar will feature two lectures of 35 minutes. Each lecture will be followed by a 15-minute Q-and-A. There will be a five-minute break between the lectures.
The Israel and Golda Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies is Canada’s first interdisciplinary research centre in Jewish Studies, bringing together a vibrant community of scholars and teachers to promote cutting-edge research in the field.
