A new webinar series titled Moving Forward, launched by the Dean’s Office in the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies (LA&PS), will create new opportunities for engagement within the LA&PS community. This virtual series of lunchtime talks, which kicks off Sept. 24, will allow alumni, donors, retirees, faculty, staff and students to connect during this time of physical isolation. All are welcome to attend and participate.
With COVID-19 halting multiple outreach activities and community-building opportunities, this series will be a recurring event. The first six scheduled webinars are listed below.
The Moving Forward series will look at how people and organizations are navigating the future with strength, determination and skills needed to overcome unprecedented barriers and create a positive change.
Each webinar will feature a distinct aspect of tackling the future, with key leaders sharing their experiences from industry, government, the not-for-profit sector and the academy.
The series will explore:
- how organizations are adapting in order to move forward through the global COVID-19 pandemic;
- how our communities and organizations are moving forward on issues of equity and social justice; and
- how students can move forward in their career goals, through the advice and wisdom of alumni who are graduates of the same program.
Each webinar will feature either a one-on-one interview or a panel discussion with high-level decision makers from various fields, offering unique insights gained through first-hand experiences.
The first lunchtime chat will be with Cait O’Donovan, VP, Digital Commerce at Cineplex and will showcase the innovation it’s taken to adapt to COVID-19. O’Donovan’s conversation with Sean Kheraj (LA&PS associate dean programs) will give insight into how her team has responded to this new business landscape.
