Leblanc was notified of the appointment, which gives him the designation of “FCMC,” on Sept. 6, and will be honoured at an awards night planned for Dec. 2.

“In recommending your nomination, the Fellows Committee considered your contributions to the profession, to your clients and to the community. The attributes setting Fellows apart from other candidates include evidence of pioneering and innovation, accomplishment and contribution,” reads a letter addressed to Leblanc from Craig Mackay, CMC-Ontario president, and Dorothy Milburn-Smith, FCMC Nominations Committee Chair.

According to CMC-Ontario, the title of Fellow is intended to formally recognize CMCs in good standing who have rendered exceptional service to the profession or whose achievements in their careers or in the community have earned them distinction and brought honour to the profession.

At the high level, the award is given to individuals who have made a “significant contribution to the profession of management consulting over time” as distinct from intense involvement over a concentrated period.
