Osgoode’s Environmental Justice & Sustainability Clinic and the MES/JD Joint Program will co-host a panel discussion titled “The ‘Cost’ of Ontario’s Recovery: Indigenous and Environmental Perspectives on Bill 197, The COVID-19 Economic Recovery Act.”
The event takes place Oct. 28 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in a virtual format.
Panelists will provide an overview of Bill 197, and discuss why it is important to challenge it and what they hope to get out of the judicial review process.

The Environmental Justice and Sustainability Clinic is a public interest legal clinic and experiential education initiative housed at Osgoode Hall Law School. It works to advance environmental justice and sustainability in Canada by carrying out a variety of legal work on a pro bono basis for a variety of clients (individuals, communities, NGOs, municipalities, First Nations, social enterprises, etc.), often in cooperation with external public interest-oriented lawyers and legal service organizations.
