Trans Awareness Week workshop planned for Nov. 17

The Centre and Student Counselling & Development (SCD) will be hosting Trans Awareness Week from Nov. 16 to 20, 2020 in support of the University’s Trans, Queer and Gender Non-Conforming Community. All York students, staff and faculty who identify as part of York’s Trans, Queer and Gender Non-Conforming Community are invited to attend online events.

“Your Body as Seen By You – and Not Society”

Workshop facilitator: Jay Jonah, Clinical Social Worker/Therapist, MSW

This workshop focuses on body positivity from a queer lens, which is inclusive of all bodies including trans and gender non-conforming bodies, and will explore how shifting perspective and utilizing self-compassion can lessen feelings of body discomfort and dysphoria.

This workshop is open to all York community members who identify as part of the University’s Trans, Queer, and Gender non-conforming community.
