The MobilizeYU Wellness Webinar Series focuses on broad topics of interest for communities given the global pandemic. York researchers and community leaders will share their knowledge and experience and engage with participants on these issues. The event will be moderated by York’s Knowledge Mobilization Unit, and aims to highlight that wellness and connection are more important than ever.
The series presents three events in March:
Mental Health in the Human Services Sector (Professor Nazilla Khanlou, York University) – March 1 at 12 p.m.
COVID-19 has placed a strain on the human services sector, with increased demands and challenges with doing business differently. Frontline workers are facing increased strains to support clients while maintaining their own health and wellness. Professor Nazilla Kahnlou will address issues of mental health for frontline workers.

Belonging and Mattering (Professor Gordon Flett, York University) – March 22 at 12 p.m.
Professor Gord Flett will share new research findings on an increasingly important issue – belonging and mattering. Flett’s research focuses on youth but many of the findings and actionable messages from his research can be taken up by a much broader social audience

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Knowledge Mobilization (Sam Tecle and Abena Offeh-Gyimah) – March 29 at 12 p.m.
Issues of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) have raised in the public’s consciousness. Two community activists and emerging scholars will share their perspectives around redefining the community-campus relationship with perspective to issues around EDI.
