The International Women’s Day Special Edition, “Kickstart your Passion: Turn your Spark into a Business,” features Richa Gupta (MBA ’11), president and founder of Good Food for Good, a social food enterprise and certified B Corporation that creates natural and organic cooking sauces, barbecue sauces and ketchups with no added sugar or preservatives. The company’s gluten-free and vegan-friendly sauces are made locally in Ontario and sold at major retailers across Canada and the U.S.

Gupta will share how she discovered her calling and how her successful venture allows her to live her purpose every day.

Good Food for Good was founded in 2013 with a simple idea: making it easy for everyone to eat well and do good. The pursuit of a dream to help consumers lead healthier lives, the company started with two questions: how to make healthy food taste great and how can it change the world?

Gupta has an MBA from York University and over 15 years of experience in retail, fashion and food marketing. While growing up in India, she was used to eating fresh home-cooked food. As a new mom working as a marketing executive, she constantly found it challenging to feed her family good food on busy nights and grew frustrated with all the compromises she was expected to make for convenience. Driven to make a difference through food, she started Good Food for Good using only ingredients you would add if you were cooking yourself.

Today, she is actively working on building better, healthier experiences for people and creating a positive difference in the world. For every product sold, the company’s Buy One Feed One program donates one meal to those in need through partnerships with food banks in Canada, India and the U.S. Over 500,000 meals have been donated so far.
