The latest update on collective bargaining

On Monday, March 8, the bargaining committees for the University and CUPE 3903 continued with collective bargaining aimed at achieving negotiated collective agreements for Units 1, 2 and 3. The University remains committed to the belief that reaching negotiated collective agreements within a reasonable timeframe will provide much-needed certainty and stability for the University community.

At the session, the University responded to CUPE’s Nursing proposals, including providing positive responses to CUPE’s proposals on current practice qualifications and a definition of Clinical Course Director.

The University continues to look forward to CUPE’s responses to several other Unit 1, 2 and 3 proposals that the University provided to CUPE on Feb. 16 and 18.

The parties’ discussions regarding Unit 2 matters, with a focus on job stability and equity, will continue over the coming weekend with the assistance of Mediator Chris Albertyn.
