This summer, York University students have the opportunity to learn about a new culture, develop language skills, and try something entirely new. With summer abroad opportunities in countries around the world, the only thing students need to do is choose the best fit.
York summer abroad courses run from two to six weeks and the York International Mobility Award (YIMA) is available to all students selected to participate in the programs listed below.
- Want to develop the necessary linguistic skills to effectively communicate in Spanish? GL/SP 3100 6.00 Advanced Spanish has been designed to provides students the opportunity to enhance their Spanish through communicative and tasked-based approaches including immersive socio-cultural activities during a study trip in Mexico. (June 18 to July 2)
- Interested in European politics and policies? The GL/POLS 4400 6.0: The Netherlands and Europeanization intensive summer course fosters an understanding of political, social and economic transformations in the European Union. (July 3 to 23)
- Enhance your understanding of Los Angeles and its special connection to the film, media and entertainment industry. The FA/FILM 3375: Learning from Los Angeles: History of the Image and the Image of History course will take a street view of Los Angeles and connect students with the many cultural organizations and communities committed to its unknown and forgotten histories. (July 1 to 31)
