The Canadian Centre for Civic Media and Arts Development/VX3 Exchange, a registered charitable agency that manages the broadcast operation of York-affiliated radio station VIBE105 (105.5FM), is seeking volunteers within the York U community to serve on the organization’s Board of Directors.
VX3 has operated for more than 35 years. They are Toronto’s longest-running broadcast dedicated to serving the Afro-Caribbean and Black diaspora and produce the highest volume of culturally reflective Black-media content in the country.
There are two open seats on the board allocated to staff, faculty or administrators at the University.
The role of the board is to govern, monitor and maintain the ethics and integrity of all activities or affairs of the VX3 Exchange Board of Directors following the standing by-laws, the Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act and applicable law. Meetings are held a minimum of five times per year (or as required) and will take place in person or remotely. Meeting attendance is mandatory.
The term for each seat is two years. Those interested in serving as a board member are encouraged to send a letter of interest along with a resumé/CV to board@vx3exchange.com. A board-led interview process will take place in early May.
