✨ 📚 Discover Joint position paper for Enhanced Transport Research in FP10 The European Technology Platforms ACARE, ALICE, ERRAC, ERTRAC - European Road Transport Research Advisory Council, and WaterborneTP have adopted a joint position paper advocating for more transport research in the upcoming EU Framework Programme for Research (FP10). This paper underscores the vital role of transport research in boosting Europe's competitiveness and ensuring affordable, safe, and sustainable mobility. 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗮𝗹𝘀: 🔖 Reinforce commitment: Research and Innovation as the main way to deliver sustainable and safe mobility for European citizens. 🔖 Inclusive: Increase R&I support for all the transport modes. 🔖 Collaboration: Continue to focus on collaboration between researchers, industry and policymakers, to push forward evidence-based research and its deployment 🔖 Partnership: Continue to support and develop the existing European Partnerships and stay ahead in a context of fierce international competition. 🔖Knowledge and skills: Support further education and skills, EU must stay a worldwide attractive location for researchers and workers in the transport industries. The 2Zero Partnership joined forces with ERTRAC - European Road Transport Research Advisory Council and the CCAM Association (Partnership) to call out European decision-makers to be attentive to financial levers appropriate for European research and innovation in the next programme framework. Tools like the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model help foster collaboration and deliver concrete impacts for the benefit of the European economy, environment, and population. The next framework programme must provide the appropriate financial means to reach the policy objectives set for the road transport sector. It was a great discussion, moderated expertly by Torbjørn Røe Isaksen, E24.no, on the energy transition, the fast pace of change in the labour market due to technology development, the critical role of cooperation and trust in creating a shared scientific foundation for decision-making and policy making and the importance of resilience and preparedness. The event emphasized the importance of understanding other perspectives and the need for increased focus on research and higher education.
