Learn about York’s New Well-being Strategy

Voir la version française

Dear York community,

As announced in this morning’s YFile, York University is furthering its commitment to fostering well-being with the launch of its first Well-being Strategy and becoming a signatory of the Okanagan Charter – an important step in recognizing our role in enhancing the health and well-being of all members of our community. The strategy is York’s most comprehensive, holistic and significant effort to address well-being across the University.

We would like to thank the many community members—staff, faculty and students—who provided their valuable input on the strategy during our consultations in 2022 and 2023. The strategy document is a culmination of what we heard from you and reflects the diverse needs and priorities of the York community. Visit the Well-being Strategy webpage to learn more about the University’s vision for enhancing well-being across our community and campuses.

Well-being remains one of the top priorities at York. It is an especially important topic given the many challenges that members of our community, and the community at large, have experienced this past year. The launch of the Well-being Strategy underpins York’s commitment to improving the conditions of daily life, from working to learning and socializing on its campuses.

This Fall Well-being Week, we encourage you to take part in some of the events, activities and webinars centered around embracing all dimensions of well-being.
