Call for convocation key coordinators for Spring Convocation 2025

The Division of Advancement is inviting York University staff to become convocation key coordinators (CKCs) at Spring Convocation in June 205.

Each year, convocation brings the York University community together to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of graduating students. The ceremonies are an inspiring experience that requires many volunteers and staff to be successful. CKCs are a critical part of that.

CKCs contribute to one of York's most inspiring traditions by taking on a leadership role, guiding student staff to help deliver a seamless ceremony experience for grads and their guests. At the same time, the role offers an opportunity to develop skills in team leadership, problem solving, event logistics and customer service while creating memories that last long after the ceremonies end.

Those who apply can expect:

  • mandatory 1.5-hour training on Tuesday, June 10 at 10:30 a.m. at Sobeys Stadium;
  • four or more shifts on June 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20
    • morning ceremony shift take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Afternoon ceremony shifts take place from 1 to 5:30 p.m.; and
  • manager/supervisor approval for the time commitment for training and shifts.

No previous convocation experience is needed. Staff from all areas are encouraged to apply – especially those interested in building their leadership and event coordination skills.

Please note: work study and student staff are not eligible for this opportunity.

The deadline to apply is April 25. Those interested must use this form.
