See the sneak preview of Sex Drive, one of the funniest movies expected out this year, before it hits the theatres. Touted as a film about the hilarious misadventures of an 18-year-old male virgin, desperately trying to be anything but, Sex Drive is playing at York’s state-of-the-art movie theatre this Friday.
The best part – it’s free. So is the popcorn with a york is U Movie Night Card, from the york is U office, Room 326 in the Student Centre.
Sex Drive isn’t scheduled to open in theatres until Oct. 17, so York students will be among the first to see the movie this Friday, Sept. 19 at 7pm at the Price Family Cinema, Room 102, Accolade East Building, Keele campus.
It is the story of high-school student Ian Lafferty, who resorts to luring women on the Internet using a false identity after failing to attract the opposite sex in the usual ways. Lafferty ends up captivating the interest of one red-hot babe, but as it turns out, she lives thousands of miles away. So what does Lafferty do? He gathers up his two best friends and sets out on a cross-country trip to see whether he has any chance at getting lucky.
Filled with raunchy escapades, Sex Drive follows the three friends on a road trip of a lifetime. As a reviewer from Comic-con says, “The movie is a masterpiece of teenage angst hilarity. It actually manages to out serve American Pie.”
The distributor of Sex Drive, Seville Picutres, and the publicists, V Kelly & Associates, have combined efforts with york is U and John Briggs, manager of the Instructional Technology Centre, to bring this special screening to York.
York is U holds regular movie nights aimed at providing York students a place to chill, relax and enjoy latest blockbuster hits in Blu-ray on a 50-foot screen. All movie nights are free with the added feature of short film screenings, produced by York students, before each show.
