Excitement is building on York’s Keele campus as homecoming celebrations approach. On Saturday, Sept. 20, at York Stadium, catch game action when the York Lions football team takes on the University of Western Ontario Mustangs at 1pm in a regular season game. In addition to football, there’s also some live entertainment provided by Cool Man Cool, a local band made up of York students. Added to the fun are contests for great prizes, food, beverages and a beer garden.
At halftime, the Kick-4-Cancun contest takes to centre field. One lucky fan will win an all-inclusive trip to Cancun, Mexico during spring break. While in Cancun, the winner will stay at the deluxe Oasis Cancun resort. To be eligible for the contest, fans must fill out a ballot and be in attendance at the game on Saturday afternoon. At halftime, three fans will be chosen at random and they’ll get a chance to attempt a field goal from 15 yards out. The winner will be rewarded with the trip to Cancun.
