Allison van Diepen, a critically-acclaimed author of young adult novels, will read a passage from her book Snitch and will answer questions about her writing process today.

Van Diepen’s first two books, Street Pharm (Simon Pulse, 2006) and Snitch (Simon Pulse, 2007), were both named American Library Association Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers and New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age. Her latest novel is Raven (Simon Pulse, 2009).
An English teacher, van Diepen wrote her first two books while teaching in an inner-city school in Brooklyn, NY. She now teaches at an alternative school in Ottawa.
