Maloca, York University’s organic community garden, will host a 10th-anniversary bash this Saturday from noon to 5pm.
Right: Gardeners enjoy a day in the garden
There will be organic veggies from the garden, interactive fun for the whole family and educational workshops. Self-directed tours of the garden and surrounding area will be available. All Maloca alumni and fresh faces are welcome.
Located off of Hoover Road at the southwest corner of York’s Keele campus, the Maloca Community Garden features both individual and communal plots for growing organic foods. The garden is now in its ninth year and continues to attract gardeners from all walks of life and all levels of experience.
It is maintained by diverse members of the York community, including staff, faculty, alumni, friends, family and local residents. No experience is necessary, just an enthusiasm for getting outdoors and for healthy and delicious foods.
