Today, the Law Commission of Ontario and Osgoode Hall Law School’s Intellectual Property Law & Technology Program will co-host a symposium on e-health law and policy in Toronto. The keynote speaker will be Professor Giuseppina D’Agostino, the Osgoode Hall Law School Law Commission of Ontario Scholar in Residence.
The symposium will take place at the offices of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP at 1 First Canadian 
Place, 100 King St. W. in Toronto.

The event will bring together academics, legal practitioners, medical and health care professionals, government officials and community organizations. They will participate in a panel discussion on the interaction of intellectual property, ethics and privacy issues related to electronic medical records.
Participating in the panel are: University of California, Irvine School of Law Professor Dan Burk; David Pattenden, director, healthcare for Microsoft Canada; Harvey Skinner, dean of the Faculty of Health at York University; Dr. Terrence Sullivan, president & CEO of Cancer Care Ontario; University of Western Ontario law Professor Margaret Ann Wilkinson; and Karen Waite, chief privacy & security officer – eHealth Ontario.
Facilitating the discussion will be Maureen Murphy, partner, Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and Michael Watts, partner, Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP.
