Second cellphone robbery reported on the Keele campus

For the second time in the past week, a cellphone robbery has been reported to York Security Services.

At approximately 6pm on Monday, March 15, a York community member was approached outside the west entrance to the Atkinson Building and robbed of her iPhone. The male suspect approached the victim and attempted to strike up a conversation, then grabbed her iPhone and ran southbound on Sentinel Road toward the Village.

The victim in this incident reported that as the initial suspect ran southbound, she observed a second male running in close proximity to the first suspect. It was not clear if the second male was working with the first suspect or if the second male was running after the first suspect.

The Toronto Police Service is investigating the incident, along with the previous case. The suspect in the second incident is described as a black male in his early 20s, with a height of five foot, 10 inches, and a small to medium build. He was wearing a dark coloured hat or bandana.
