Drop by at 12:30pm to celebrate the Lions’ big win. As part of the festivities, the new York team bus will be unveiled. Don’t miss out on your chance to see it for the first time on campus.
The Lions won their second national gold medal in three years two weekends ago at the CIS tournament at the University of Toronto. They earned the title with a thrilling 1-0 victory over the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds in the final after knocking off teams from the University of Laval and Saint Mary’s University in the quarter-finals and semifinals, respectively.
York has now won three national men’s soccer titles in program history (also 2008 and 1977), and is tied with McGill University for fourth place on the all-time championship list.
