Late Croatian linguist taught at York

Eminent linguist, a corresponding member of the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts and a great Croatian patriot, Branko Franolić passed away in London yesterday, wrote the Croatian Heritage Foundation Jan. 12.

Franolić was born in Rijeka on July 2, 1925. From 1991 to 1993, Franolić served as an instructor of French linguistics and Croatian language at York University’s Atkinson College.

He has published numerous works in many languages in the fields of linguistics and Croatian studies.
