Early morning movement of heavy construction equipment will close Highway 7 between Edgeley Boulevard and Jane Street on Monday, June 25, from 3 to 4am. Paid duty officers will ensure safe traffic flow and redirect traffic on Highway 7 to use alternate detours. Due to the nature of the work, motorists and commuters may face minor traffic delays.
Construction work includes moving heavy equipment from the south side of Highway 7 to the north side. This moving of equipment is estimated to take about 20 minutes.
The City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment which allows the contractor to perform overnight and weekend work when required to minimize long term disruption and to keep the project on schedule.
Alternate Routes
From Highway 7, use the route Edgeley Boulevard to Portage Parkway to Jane Street to Highway 7 (Detour 1) as an alternate or Interchange Way to Jane Street to Highway 7 (Detour 2) as another alternate during this closure.
YRT Bus Route Services
Transit delays may be experienced on YRT/Viva Highway 7/Centre 77 Route and the Brampton 501 Route.
Pedestrian Access/Walkways
The sidewalk on the north side of Highway 7 will be closed at Millway Avenue during this short closure. Flag persons will be stationed on the sidewalk.
