Students can save big at campus bookstore

The York University Bookstore is launching a new initiative designed to save students money. This fall whenever students shop at the Bookstore using their YU-card Flex Dollars, they’ll automatically receive five per cent or more back in Scholar Dollars.

YU CardNo sign-up is required – students just need to load their YU-cards with Flex Dollars. Every dollar they spend at the Bookstore on everything, from textbooks and stationery to art supplies and more, using their YU-card is eligible for Scholar Dollars.

Students can save the Scholar Dollars and redeem them for any item at the Bookstore. For every one Scholar Dollar redeemed, $1 will be taken off the purchase price. In addition, any student who redeems 100 Scholar Dollars on a single purchase will receive a bonus $100 gift card for a total of $200 in savings at the bookstore. That adds up to 10 per cent in free merchandise.

The Scholar Dollars become available 35 days after the purchase and are awarded at a rate of five per cent on purchases with five per cent tax, 5.38 per cent on purchase with 13 per cent tax and 4.76 per cent on purchases without tax.

Load up your YU-card Flex Dollars, review the balance and check your Scholar Dollars at the YU-card website.
