Breakfast and lunch are on the menu in Vari Hall Thursday, Nov. 22 at York’s Faculty of Health event, where the York community is invited to support the York Cares United Way Campaign.
Breakfast will be served up from 8am to 11am and lunch from 11am to 2pm (or while supplies last). On the menu will be $2 bagels, pizza for $3.50, sandwiches for $4 and coffee for $1.50.
In addition, each purchase will entitle the buyer to enter their name into a draw for a lunch buffet for two at the Schulich Executive Dining Room, a $50 value, donated by the Schulich Executive Learning Centre. The event is sponsored by Michelangelo’s Restaurant, the Underground Restaurant and the Great Canadian Bagel.
And that’s not all. The annual Cup-of-Soup for the United Way will be serving vegetarian and traditional soup with a bun for $3 Monday, Nov. 26, from noon to 2pm, in Central Square. All proceeds will go to the United Way. The soup is donated by Attilio Perrone of Michelangelo’s and hosted by York’s Division of Students.
For those who have yet to donate, pledge at least $1/week or $52/year by 4pm on Friday, Nov. 23 to be entered into the final participation draw, which will take place at 9:30am, Wednesday, Nov. 28 at the Schulich French toast breakfast, for a chance to win the grand prize of two tickets to anywhere Air Canada flies, donated by York grad John F. Bankes (LLB/MBA ’77).
Every pledge to the United Way helps to build a city where every person is able to reach their full potential; a city where every neighbourhood is thriving; a city that is healthy today; a city poised for a bright future.
