Highway 7 lane reduction west of Jane Street – Jan. 7 to 11

From the evening of Monday, Jan. 7 to the morning of Friday, Jan. 11, the westbound curb lane of Highway 7 from Jane Street to Edgeley Boulevard will be closed nightly from 9:30pm to 6:30am to allow for the safe installation of secant piles on the north side of Highway 7. Two lanes will always remain open westbound and three lanes will remain open eastbound. The lane closure may be cancelled if bad weather arises.

Due to the nature of the work, motorists may face traffic delays. Motorists are encouraged to obey all signs and slow down through this construction zone. The section of Highway 7 between Interchange Way and Jane Street continues to be posted at a reduced speed limit of 50km/h.

During the work, there may be construction-related noise. The City of Vaughan has approved a noise by-law amendment allowing the contractor to perform overnight and weekend work when required to minimize long-term disruption and to keep the project on schedule.

Transit delays may be experienced on the York Region Transit/Viva Highway 7/Centre 77 route and the Brampton 501 route.

Sidewalks will remain open on the south side of Highway 7 to maintain pedestrian access during this construction. Pedestrians are encouraged to take extra care while travelling nearby.
