Film details life of Lincoln Alexander, in his own words

A Linc in Time: The Lincoln Alexander Story, a 48-minute film in which Lincoln Alexander gives an unedited account of his remarkable life, will screen Wednesday.

Produced and directed by Nicole Brooks, the film will screen March 20 at 10am in the Nat Taylor Cinema, N102 Ross Building, ALincinTimeKeele campus. Admission is free.

In his 87th year, Alexander delivers an account of his childhood, his entry into politics as the first black member of Parliament in 1968 and his experiences as the first black lieutenant-governor in Canada. It is the last-known time that Alexander talks about his life in his own words.

The result is a film that pays tribute to his triumphs, obstacles and tragedies, creating a portrait of a man that is surprising, heartbreaking and often funny, but always inspiring. The production of A Linc in Time was fully funded by OMNI Television.

The filmmaker, Brooks, will be in attendance and will give a short talk following the LincolnAlexanderfilm.
