Level UP – that’s this year’s theme for the ABEL Program and Learning Connections’ 12th annual ABEL Summer Institute at York University.
The Advanced Broadband Enabled Learning (ABEL) Summer Institute will take place Aug. 20 and 21 at the Keele campus, where delegates will Level UP to improve their effective use of technology through a variety of interactive sessions.
Delegates will listen in as ABEL hosts its first-ever Pecha Kucha session – Level UP in 20. A variety of people will participate in the fast-paced event, presenting 20 slides detailing how they Level UP.
Dean Shareski
Dean Shareski, community manager for Discovery Education Canada, will moderate an expert panel focusing on how to Level UP in a variety of leadership roles.
Flip the conference experience and engage in meaningful conversations based on shared resources by participating in ASI Flipped. Some topics will include social networking, using cool technologies for learning in the classroom and sharing Easter eggs.
Interactive learning over the two days will be led by expert facilitators through hands-on sessions for a variety of technological tools for education. Some titles will include: Google Apps for On-going Assessment and Student Engagement, Design Tools for Educators, Interactive Blogging and Gamification: Using Game Mechanics.
The intended audience for ASI includes educators from K-12 and beyond, leaders in education and the parent community.
