The York University Lions women’s volleyball team remained undefeated Sunday, downing the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees in straight sets on home court at the Tait McKenzie Centre.
The match pitted two undefeated, nationally ranked programs, the No. 4 Lions against the No. 8 Gee-Gees, and was a rematch of last year’s Ontario University Athletics (OUA) final that was won by Ottawa in five sets. The Lions made quick work of their rivals and the game was one of their most lopsided wins of the year.
They were in total control of the game, winning 25-17, 25-18 and 25-16. The win moved them to a 5-0 on the year and the Lions are now the only team in the OUA with an unblemished record. More details on the York Lions website.
