Sociologist Saadia Toor will give a talk, Rethinking South Asia in a New Imperial Age, Jan. 30 at York.
Toor is the keynote speaker at the second annual Critical Approaches to South Asian Studies Workshop (CASAS) Jan. 30 and 31. The workshop offers a forum for scholars to discuss their research on South Asia and South Asian diasporas. Organized by the South Asian Research Group at York, it will feature five panels and two roundtables on topics such as borders and nationalisms, culture, postcolonial critiques, and religiosity and spirituality in the academy.
The CASAS workshop will be held in the Harry Crowe Room, 109 Atkinson. It is free and open to the public. RSVP at sargyork@yorku.ca by Jan. 27. Send questions or inquiries to sargyork@yorku.ca.
