York’s Career Centre has redefined the possible for the delivery of critical career information to students. On October 16, the Career Centre officially launched the Career Cyberguide, an exceptional advancement in service to students.
Using cutting-edge online technology, the Career Cyberguide makes career information available to students 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
This guide acts as a state-of-the-art multimedia manual, allowing students access to PowerPoint presentations, videos and handouts on a variety of topics involving the career development process, including job searching, resumes, interviews, networking and cover letters.
As well, the Career Cyberguide serves as a gateway for the stories and profiles of extraordinary people from the York community with exceptional careers.

Bonnie Neuman, VP students & alumni, and Donna Robbins, director of the Career Centre, hosted the launch by showing how this new guide reflects York’s commitment to student service.
IBM, SYNNEX Canada, United Parcel Service and Ontario Power Generation were all recognized for their contributions. Throughout the guide, interviews with these employers clarify for students the expectations and employment strategies of employers.
Carolyn Steele, project coordinator with the Career Centre, and Kelly Parke, multimedia designer with York’s Instructional Technology Centre, presented a tour of the cyberguide, highlighting some of its key features.
