Overnight construction on Keele campus until April 11

Subway-related construction continues at York University’s Keele campus on the station box and excavation of the area known as the “light scoop”. Construction activities will run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from Friday, March 21 to Friday, April 11. Permitted overnight work includes installation and operation of a dewatering system. During the 24-7 work, there will be construction-related noise from trucks and the operation of three small drill rigs. Work will take place in the “contractor work zone” pictured on the map below.

The City of Toronto’s normal working hours are 7am to 7pm. However, a noise bylaw amendment has been approved for major transit projects, allowing contractors to perform overnight and weekend work for the duration of a project, when required. Extended work hours are expected to occur within the hoarded construction site at York University until September.

As construction progresses at the York University Station site, construction-related notices will continue to be issued.
