Electrical service interruptions on Keele campus Oct. 30 to Nov. 1

To restore the Steeles main substation to normal operation after the relocation of an electrical transformer, the following buildings will experience a three-minute power interruption on Thursday, Oct. 30, between 7:30 and 8:30am:

  • Pan Am Stadium
  • #340 Assiniboine
  • #360 Assiniboine
  • #380 Assiniboine
  • Goldfarb Centre for Fine Arts

To prepare for the connection of a new high-voltage cable to the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence, the following buildings will experience a three-minute power interruption on Friday, Oct. 31, between 6:30 and 7:30am:

  • Ross Building (three transformers, three minutes each)
  • Central Square
  • Scott Library

To connect the new high-voltage cable to the Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence, the Curtis Lecture Hall will experience a six- to eight-hour outage on Saturday, Nov. 1, starting at 6:30am.

Note: After the Nov. 1 weekend a new memo will be issued regarding three more dates of electrical switching. This is required to energize the substation in the new engineering building.
