York’s annual Volunteer Fair will give students a chance to learn about a variety of volunteer opportunities in the Toronto area, including opportunities on and off campus.
Volunteering can be a great way for students to build career-related skills and gain experience, all while making a difference in their community.
York students who have attended previous Volunteer Fairs have found opportunities to get involved and gain skills and experience in a wide variety of volunteer roles.
More than 35 non-profit organizations will be recruiting volunteers at this year’s fair, including Canadian Cancer Society, Canadian Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, March of Dimes, Toronto Public Library, and Volunteer Toronto. The full list of non-profit organizations that will be in attendance can be found on the Volunteer Fair website.
This year’s Volunteer Fair will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12, at Vari Hall. Students are invited to drop by any time between 10am and 3pm.
Can’t make it to the Volunteer Fair? The Career Centre has a year-round schedule of events and workshops on career planning and further education. York students and news grads (up to two years after graduation) can register for events on the Career Centre’s website.
