Presidential Search Committee to host two community consultations on April 28

The Presidential Search Committee has issued a notice of community consultations for April 28 on the University’s Keele campus. Session one will run from 11am to 12pm and will be followed by a second session from 1 to 2pm. Both sessions will take place in the Senate Chamber, N940 Ross Building. The following is a message from the Presidential Search Community to the University Community regarding the community consultations:

As part of the process of developing the mandate and position profile for the University’s next president and vice-chancellor, the Presidential Search Committee would like to hear from as many members of the University community as possible.

We invite you to offer your perspectives to search committee members on Thursday, April 28. The search committee members will capture and share your responses (unattributed to you) with the rest of the committee.  The committee has prepared the following questions to consider.

Preparing to provide your perspectives

The Presidential Search Committee has prepared the following questions to consider in advance of the sessions (or if you would like to prepare a written response):

  1. What makes York University different from other universities / what strengths should York continue to build upon?
  1. What challenges and opportunities do you see for York University over the next few years?
  1. What should be the goals and priorities for the next President and Vice-Chancellor? (Alternatively, you may wish to just finish the sentence: “I hope that the next President does …”.)
  1. What experience and/or leadership attributes should York University be seeking in its next President and Vice-Chancellor – and are there any characteristics of York itself that the next President should exemplify?
  1. What else should we be considering?

If you would prefer to write your response, comment in confidence to yorkupresident@caldwellpartners.com.
