The 2017 Sustainability Week at York University will culminate on Friday, March 24 with the annual Sustainability Fair. The fair is hosted by the Business and Sustainability class in the Faculty of Environmental Studies in partnership with Sustainability @ York U. It celebrates many exciting and innovative sustainability projects, organizations and businesses on and off campus.
The fair will take place in Vari Hall, Ross Link and Central Square from 10am to 4pm, student clubs, organizations and businesses including the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, the Toronto Transit Commission, Metrolinx, Smart Commute, Fair Trade Toronto and Mountain Equipment Coop will have information on their sustainability initiatives both on and off campus.
The fair will also be hosting Plug’n Drive, a non-profit organization committed to accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Plug’n Drive will be bringing a small selection of EVs for faculty, staff and students to view. The cars will be parked in front of Vari Hall on the Keele campus.
The Sustainability Fair represents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in sustainability to network with others. There’s plenty of information available and the event offers an important venue for raising the community’s awareness about the importance of sustainability at York University and beyond.
