Glendon’s annual International Studies Conference is presenting “India: The Challenges to an Emerging Power” on Saturday, Feb. 28. Organized by the India Independent Study Committee, this year’s conference continues a series of student-run events at Glendon. The conference is the latest in the award-winning series which was honoured in 2003 with the Student Leadership in Internationalization Award from the Canadian Bureau of International Education
The conference will explore the historical legacy, rich diversity and the transformations underway in the world’s fifth largest economy, India. 
Distinguished guests of the conference will include Shashi Tripathi, the high commissioner of India to Canada, and Bernard Patry, member of Parliament and Chair of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs & International Trade. The conference will explore methods of strengthening Indo-Canadian relations and foster discussion on important issues related to India, the world’s largest democracy.
