The Vision: Science to Applications (VISTA) program at York University is seeking applications for up to four postdoctoral fellowships.
In September 2016, York University’s world-class expertise in vision research was recognized by the government of Canada with the nation’s most prestigious research grant: a $33.3-million Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF) grant. The investment funds research across a wide range of applications of vision science, from basic visual function to computer vision, object recognition and more.
The topic of research for applicants must fall within VISTA’s mandate, which is to support fundamental and applied vision research that combines biological and computational perspectives and has translational potential for health, industry or other applications.
VISTA is a program that will enable York University, and its partners, to accelerate York’s already world-class vision research. VISTA involves five York Faculties, seven research centres (including the Centre for Vision Research), and over 50 partners in the international research community and non-academic sectors such as health care and private industry.
The closing date for the competition is Sept. 6.
