This fall, Glendon College welcomes seven new faculty members, including six professors and one senior research fellow.
“We are proud to welcome these leading scholars and researchers who have joined us this year,” said Glendon Principal Donald Ipperciel. “They will surely make a substantive contribution to student learning, experiential education and research at Glendon.”
Yann Allard-Tremblay
Yann Allard-Tremblay joins Glendon this fall as a new professor with a main affiliation to the Department of Sociology, and is also associated with the Department of Political Science.
Allard-Trembley is a specialist in political philosophy and Indigenous studies, and is a member of the Wendat nation.
He has earned a PhD in philosophy through a joint program with the University of St. Andrews and the University of Stirling.
Julie McDonough-Dolmaya
Julie McDonough-Dolmaya joins Glendon at the School of Translation. Her area of specialization is focused on translation into a digital environment.
McDonough-Dolmaya knows Glendon well for having worked there for several years, and this fall is thrilled to be a permanent faculty member.
She earned her PhD in translation studies at the University of Ottawa.
Aurélie Takam
Aurélie Takam joins the Department of French Studies at Glendon, with a specialization in applied linguistics and language acquisition.
Takam earned a PhD in general and experimental linguistics; psycholinguistics and pathology of language rrom Yaoundé Univeristy.
She also has a PhD in French linguistics and psycholinguistics; acquisition, disorders and language evaluation from the University of Montreal.
Hossam Ali-Hassan
Hossam Ali-Hassan joins Glendon College in the Department of International Studies in the Diploma Program in Business. Ali-Hassan specializes in technology issues (social networks, data mining, etc.) and his area of focus is identified as emerging technologies.
Ali-Hassan comes to York University from Dalhousie University, where he served on the faculty as a professor from 2010 to 2017.
Ali-Hassan earned a PhD in business administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University, and an MBA from McGill University.
Patrick Cavanagh
Patrick Cavanagh joins Glendon at the Department of Psychology as a Senior Research Fellow. He is a well-established scholar in vision research, and his affiliation to Glendon and York is the result of a multi-Faculty cooperation, including the Faculty of Health, Science, Engineering, the VISTA research center and the Office of the Provost.
Cavanagh has earned a PhD in psychology from Carnegie-Mellon University.
Gabriel Levine
Gabriel Levine joins Glendon in the Department of Drama this fall as faculty member.
His current projects include processional theater, puppetry, and the concept of “practice” in the performing arts.
Levine has earned a PhD in social and political thought at York University.
Mulry Mondélice
Mulry Mondélice joins Glendon the Department of International Studies.
His area of focus is specialized in international law and human rights.
Mondélice has a PhD in law from Cotutelle Université Paris II – Panthéon-Assas et Université Laval.
