A vigil organized by York University’s Centre for Human Rights, Equity and Inclusion (CREI), on Monday, Nov. 20, will acknowledge lives lost due to violence towards trans, Two-Spirit and gender non-conforming people.
The vigil for Trans Day of Remembrance will take place at the Student Centre from noon to 1pm, and will be followed by an afternoon of self-care activities in 013 Accolade East Building until 4:30pm.
The event will acknowledge the loss and resilience of the trans community, considering intersectional and diverse identities and experiences, and developing more inclusive spaces within and beyond the York community.
All people have a right to inclusion, safety, respect and belonging at York University, regardless of their gender, gender identity or gender expression.
