The York University Magazine’s Winter 2018 digital issue is available now at magazine.yorku.ca. This edition is only the second digital version of the award-winning York University Magazine, and the first under the direction of long-time Globe and Mail staff journalist, Deirdre Kelly, who joined York University in November as the publication’s new editor.
Inside you’ll find: “Dancing on the Edge,” highlighting the nearly 50-year history of York’s Department of Dance; “Nail Biter,” uncovering a doctoral student’s examination of toxic discount nail salons; “Giller Guys,” introducing two former film students who went on to win Canada’s biggest literary prize; “Fresh Coat,” profiling luxury outerwear designer Bojana Sentaler; “Winter’s Dirty Secret” documents important work by a chemistry professor who is looking into the quality of winter air; and much more.
The York University Magazine is published three times during the academic year. It is printed and mailed to alumni and friends of the University in the fall, with limited quantities delivered to Faculties, departments and administrative units. The winter and summer issues of the magazine are available as a digital edition only, which can be enjoyed wherever you are – on your smartphone, tablet or desktop computer.
The York University Magazine’s new digital counterpart features exclusive web-only content that’s not included in the yearly print edition. It is updated regularly with fresh stories, photos and videos to keep readers in the loop on the latest news at York.

Note: For faculty and staff who are York alumni and are not currently receiving the print version of The York University Magazine at home but would like to, update your communication preferences via the Alumni & Friends website to ensure your mailing address is up to date and the “No Mail” box beside “York U Magazine” is not selected.
