The Canada Foundation for Innovation announced $22 million for world class research facilities to 124 new faculty at 27 universities across the country, reported Canada News Wire Oct. 18. Six projects at York University will receive funding. CFI also recently approved over $300 million toward the New Opportunities Fund for state-of-the-art equipment for the period 2003-2010. Difficult to impose Kyoto regulations
Patrick Monahan, dean of Osgoode Hall Law School, has said it might be difficult for Ottawa to impose emission regulations on provinces that don’t want to co-operate, reported CP Wire Oct. 17 in a story on Alberta’s alternative Kyoto plan.
