The York University-TD Community Engagement Centre is again offering its annual Catalyst Grants program. This year’s theme is “Building Better Together.”
Catalyst Grants are intended to provide start-up funding for innovative partnerships between York University and the Black Creek community. The grants can cover a broad range of ideas that respond to community need. This year’s call seeks proposals for projects that tackle some of the challenges exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic and identify some re-imagined or creative steps forward.
This year, organizers are seeking proposals that focus on one, or both, of the following:
- Strengthen communities: Projects that aim to strengthen a response to a community challenge and/or gap. For example, a project that addresses the gaps exacerbated by COVID-19 on the Black Creek Community.
- Enhancing equity through Anti-Black Racism: Projects that look to improve community outcomes by applying an anti-Black Racism lens.
Applications will be accepted until Friday, Aug. 6, by 11:59 p.m. Proposals should be submitted by email to Talisha Ramsaroop, community projects coordinator, by email at talishar@yorku.ca.
