York University’s Career Centre has won another prestigious national award for its development of the Career Cyberguide – a multimedia career resource for students. The Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE) awarded the Career Centre its Outstanding Achievement Award. The award is given to Canadian postsecondary institutions or employers in recognition of their contribution to the fields of career planning and recruitment.
Scott Fennell, manager of employer relations for the Career Centre, accepted the CACEE Outstanding Achievement Award on behalf of the centre at the association’s national conference in Winnipeg on June 6. The conference attracted over 300 career services and human resources professionals from across Canada.

In addition to the CACEE Award, the Career Centre won the Excellence Award for Educational Programming from the National Association of Colleges and Employers earlier this month. (For the full story, see the June 10 issue of YFile.)
Plans to expand the Career Cyberguide are underway. New features will include information about networking and on-campus jobs. An introductory piece will also be added to help students navigate effectively through the various sections of the Career Cyberguide.
