Summer fun for York campers

Campers aged eight to 14 will have the opportunity to explore programs in theatre, music, visual arts, science, sports and leadership at York’s day camp this summer. Two-week sessions, offered by the York Youth Connection from July 5 to Aug. 20, include daily swimming, sessional day trips and lots of exciting and educational activities.

The York Youth Connection summer day camp has served York University and its surrounding community for more than 28 years. Located on the Keele campus, the camp offers fun, safe experiences and activities that promote the confidence and creativity of campers.

Campers also learn about the University and can take full advantage of York’s facilities and expertise in visual arts, music, theatre, science, leadership and sports. The camp is very affordable with its low sessional fee of just $210 for each two-week session, and subsidies are available. Children are supervised by fully qualified staff.

“This summer camp is a positive outlet for the youth of the community. It provides endless opportunities for growth and development, encouraging youth to participate in the arts, stay active in sport and establish long-standing friendships,” said Danielle Chateau, community relations officer. “Campers are thrilled to come back year after year. The staff are exceptional and serve as positive role models for the campers.”

Campers experience a full day of activities starting at 8:30am and finishing at 4:30pm, five days a week. After-hours supervision is available until 5pm from Monday to Thursday (please indicate your requirements when registering).

The camp office opens today and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis in upcoming camp sessions. For registration and more information, visit the York Youth Connection Web site or contact the camp office at ext. 55669 or yyc@yorku.ca.
