Add another Fulbright scholar to York’s list

Dayna Scott is one of three York alumni to receive a Canada-US Fulbright Scholarship this year. Scott graduated in 2001 with a York joint master’s degree in law and environmental studies. She is currently a visiting doctoral researcher with the Hauser Global Law School Program at New York University School of Law. The scholarship will support her research project, “Trade in Risk: Disentangling Scientific and Legal Discourses at the World Trade Organization.”

Among the other scholars selected to receive the Canada-US Fulbright Award for the upcoming academic year are York Professors Isabella Bakker, Stephen Gill and Obiora Okafor, as well as York alumni Jacob Udell and Jacklin Tabar (see the July 26 issue of YFile).

The Canada-US Fulbright Program offers Canadian and American academics the opportunity to lecture, research and study in each other’s country. Fulbright award recipients are distinguished scholars in a wide variety of disciplines at various stages in their academic careers and include prominent and promising scholars, graduate students and prospective graduate students, doctoral candidates and independent researchers.
