Five members of the York Lions football team have been selected to the 2004 Ontario University Athletics all-star teams by league coaches.
Running back Andre Durie, defensive end Ricky Foley and defensive back Clinton John were selected to the first team. Defensive back Sam Opaleye was named to the first team at rush cover and to the second team at free safety, and wide receiver Ricardo Hudson was named to the second team.

Foley led Canadian Interuniversity Sports players with nine sacks and recorded more tackles (32) than any other defensive tackle in the conference. John was selected for the third consecutive year despite missing two games with a shoulder injury. Opaleye had 17 special teams

Hudson, with his first career all-star selection, was York’s leading receiver with 30 catches for 416 yards and two touchdowns.
The 2004 Ontario University Athletics football major award winners will be announced Wednesday morning at a press conference at the Canadian Football Hall of Fame.
The all-star teams were announced as part of the build-up to the 97th Yates Cup football championship, which takes place at University Stadium in Waterloo, Saturday, at 1pm. The Laurier Golden Hawks host the McMaster Marauders in a rematch of last year’s title match in the game which is being televised on The Score Television Network.
