York University’s new FAAS (Financial Aid, Awards and Scholarships) App has officially launched, making York U one of the first universities in Canada to implement a sophisticated awards solution for its students. This innovative app marks the fourth Student Systems Renewal Program (SSRP) project to be completed, continuing the University’s mission to enhance the student, faculty and staff experience.
The FAAS App makes it easier for students to manage financial aid, awards, scholarships and graduate funding. They can see all their scholarship and award options in one place, search and apply for funding opportunities, and even get matched to some automatically. They can also track their applications and receive funding – all within the app. Not just for students, the FAAS App also transforms how faculty and staff do their work, by streamlining the process for reviewing and distributing awards.
While the new solution launched for faculty and staff on July 10, students have just now started to receive communications about the app, in alignment with award application timelines. They will begin using it for the Fall/Winter semesters.
A help guide is available for faculty and staff as a quick reference for where to go for ongoing support with access requests, technical issues and other questions regarding the new system.
For students, the Student Financial Services website contains information and FAQs to help them make the most of the new system.
