York librarian Ilo-Katryn Maimets has been named the top academic librarian in a province-wide competition adjudicated by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA) awards committee.
Maimets, who works at York’s Steacie Science & Engineering Library, will receive the OCUFA Academic Librarianship Award for 2004 in a ceremony being held on June 10 at Toronto’s Renaissance Toronto Hotel.

“OCUFA’s Awards Committee was impressed by how critical Ms. Maimets has been considered to the evolution of York ’s School of Nursing during a period of rapid program growth,” said OCUFA President Michael Doucet. “The committee noted that faculty members consider her a true colleague, students consider her faculty – both consider her a valuable resource.”
