The Colloquium on the Global South at York University will continue with a seminar titled “People’s Globalization: Immigrant Women Organizing in Toronto” by Canadian social activist Judy Rebick. The seminar is presented by The University Consortium on the Global South (UCGS) and will take place on 
Wednesday, Nov.16, from 2:30 to 4:30pm in Room 305 in York Lanes.

Rebick, drawing from the stories she has documented in her most recent book, Ten Thousand Roses: The Making of a Feminist Revolution (2005), will illustrate how a coalition forged among immigrant women helped make the Canadian women’s movement the most diverse in the world.
Rebick is the Sam Gindin Chair in social justice and democracy at Ryerson University in Toronto, publisher of the progressive Canadian web magazine rabble.ca and author of Imagine Democracy (2000). She appears frequently on radio and television across Canada and writes for publications such as The Globe and Mail, Maclean’s and CBC Online
